PUBLIC SERVICE MINISTER ON REDUCTION OF POLICE RECRUITS SALARIES:It’s a private security matter.

MBABANE: Mabulala Maseko, the Minister of Public Service says issues of State security cannot be discussed with the media.

Responding to questions from this Swaziland News when asked about the reduction of salaries for the police and Correctional Services recruits, the Minister said these were issues of State security.

“I will wait for a full report on this matter. But you need to understand that these are issues of State security that cannot be discussed with the media. It’s better here in eSwatini we share some information but in other countries, these issues are a no-go area,”said the Public Minister.

It has been disclosed that after refusing to increase salaries for civil servants, Government has decided to reduce salaries for the police and Correctional Services recruits, more public officers might be affected as Government's financial challenges worsen.

Correctional Services and police recruits will now be paid R2931.00 per-month, the recruits were previously paid around five thousand Rands(R5,000.00).
