MBABANE: Mabulala Maseko, the Minister of Public Service says Swaziland News editor Zweli Martin Dlamini must stop destroying the country and be positive in his articles so that eSwatini government can consider working with him.

The Minister called the editor on Monday around 6:45 AM when returning a call where the editor had asked him why the government reduced salaries for police and Correctional Services recruits.

“You must stop destroying the country and consider writing positive articles about the government so that we can work together. Be positive, if you feel there are things that need to be corrected, we can do that in a positive way. As government, we are not happy with some of your social media posts; let us work together,”said the Public Service Minister when speaking to the editor.

On another Swaziland News editor Zweli Martin Dlamini said he was eager to publish positive articles about the government but struggling to identify same.

The editor urged the Minister to assist him in identifying anything positive about a regime that kills protesting civilians.

‘It is the wish of every journalist to publish positive stories in a free and democratic society. The Minister must assist in identifying anything positive that we can publish about a country that violates human rights. We normally publish positive articles about this government, but such articles are scarce because there is actually ‘nothing’ positive about this cruel regime,”said the editor.
