MBABANE: Dr Siphetfo Dlamini, the Deputy President of the newly formed Swazis First Democratic Front(SFDF) says the consistent and successful national shutdowns supported by public transport workers are stripping King Mswati’s authority over the country.
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Saturday evening,Dr Dlamini said the good work done by the public transport workers, through their Swaziland Transport, Communications and Allied Workers Union(SWATCAWU) was an indication that the country now belongs to emaSwati.
“This is a clear demonstration that the country belongs to emaSwati. So the highly anticipated two(2) days shutdown will give a signal, a signal that has been consistently there. It is our hope that this should appear or sound as a last warning to the regime that the country is no longer in the hands of this regime and the royal family,” said the SFDF Deputy President.
On another note, Deputy Prime Minister Themba Masuku, when addressing journalists during a press conference on Saturday said Government was disturbed by the threats of public transport disruption.
“Government is disturbed by this threat and therefore as an entity that is responsible for law and order, as well as observing the rule of law, has taken a step to approach the courts of law to stop this illegal action to interrupt transportation activities. The courts have listened and heard our application and granted an interim order against the action,”said the DPM.
