KWALUSENI: Richard Masuku,the Acting Registrar at the University of Eswatini(UNESWA) has announced the postponement of exams scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday amid the threats of a national shutdown by public transport workers.
Government through Deputy Prime Minister Themba Masuku assured the Nation that operations would be normal during the coming two days.
In a memorandum addressed to students and University staff and shared with this Swaziland News on Monday, the Acting Registrar said the exams would be postponed to a date that would be determined by the University.
“It is advised that the examination papers which were scheduled for Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th December 2022 have been postponed\",reads the memorandum in part
Efforts to reach the Acting Registrar for comments proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
Public transport workers are expected to participate in a national shutdown, in demand for democracy, the release of incarcerated pro-democracy Members of Parliament Bacede Mabuza, Mthandeni Dube and other political prisoners.
