MBABANE: Mbongwa Dlamini, the President of the Swaziland National Association of Teachers(SNAT) has rejected former Member of Parliament(MP) Mduduzi Magawugawu Simelane\'s request to join the undemocratic Tinkhundla elections.

The former MP is vocal in campaigning for Mswati’s oppressive system of governance by urging pro-democracy activists to participate in the undemocratic elections as a strategy, to fight the system from within.

“I watched the former MP’s online programme where he mentioned my name as one of those they would approach to join the elections. Let me make my position clear, I want elections under multiparty democracy, nothing else. I am also a football coach, you don’t talk about losers finals even before you play the finals because by so doing, you are telling your players that you will lose.We have no options here, but to fight for democracy and the liberation of our people,”said the SNAT President.

The former MP is the only known public figure so far who is campaigning for Mswati’s undemocratic elections, even the Elections and Boundaries Commission(EBC) has not commenced its civic and voter education programs.

The pro-democracy Multi-Stakeholder Forum(MSF) is currently pushing for a political dialogue to pave a way for democratic elections.
