SOMNTONGO: Dumsani Mbhamali, the pro-democracy Somntongo Member of Parliament(MP) has been receiving death threats, alleged killers claim to be sent by other MPs.
A questionnaire was sent to Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the Police Spokesperson, however, she had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Speaking to this Swaziland News this week, the MP said the alleged killers sent him thretening messages, demanding fifty thousand Rands(R50,000.00) or else, they will kill him.
"No amount of intimidation will ever stop me from standing up for what I believe in, and I don't think any of my colleagues are involved.Instead, I believe this is a collection of thugs who have all the information about me and are only trying to steal my money. However, I cannot ignore the fact that State agents are working tirelessly to silence every pro-democratic voice.I have established self-defense measures to ensure my safety,” said the MP.
