MBABANE: “We are not surprised by the death of the Ndlovunga Chief, officers at Mbuluzi Barracks had vowed to impose heavy training tactics amid suspicions that there were comrades among the recruits”.
These were the sentiments of a senior army official who spoke to this Swaziland News on Saturday morning,he was sharing critical information on what might had led to the death of ka-Dlovunga Chief Sicelo Dlamini.
Lieutenant Tengetile Khumalo, the Spokesperson of the Umbutfo Eswatini Defense Force(UEDF)confirmed the death of the Chief this week.
Responding to a questionnaire from this Swaziland News on Friday, the Army Spokesperson said the recruit was part of those at the training battalion at Mbuluzi.
“The Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force (UEDF) sadly confirms the unfortunate death of a recruit,who was part of those currently at the training battalion even though a detailed report directed to my Office has not yet been conveyed. The Defence Force and family have evenly lost and on that note the public affairs office requests that we afford his family and the deceased loved ones the due respect at this moment,”said the Army Spokesperson.
On another note, the senior army official shared other names of soldiers who were killed at Mbuluzi while undergoing training over the years,the names are subject of an investigation by this publication.
