MBABANE:Dr Simon Zwane, the Principal Secretary(PS) in the Ministry of Health says the PAP smear processing equipment will be fully restored next week.
This Swaziland News published a story on Monday afternoon suggesting that the equipment for testing PAP smear samples at the national laboratory had broken down.
Speaking to this publication on Monday evening, the Health Principal Secretary said the specimen processing equipment had it's pump broken adding that the whole system would be fully functional by next week.
“It is true that the specimen processing equipment had its pump broken.It has been fixed and the slide processing will be restored next week.Unfortunately the laboratory has a backlog of samples which is being worked on,we would like to express our sincere apologies to our clients for the inconvenience,”said the Health Principal Secretary.
