Deputy Prime Minister Themba Masuku builds new house for Gogo Gladys Ndlovu of kaMethula.

KAMETHULA: Deputy Prime Minister Senator Themba Masuku presented a new house to Gogo Gladys Ndlovu of Kamtfumbi Community in the Shiselweni region, the area is under kaMethula Constituency.

Government online platforms reported on Thursday that Gogo Ndlovu previously occupied a stick and mud house,she stays with her grandchildren.

When presenting the house, the DPM who was represented by Justice Minister Pholile Shakantu said after seeing the desperate situation of the elderly and her grandchildren, living in a falling stick and mud housing structure, he committed to build a decent house for them. 

“Today is that great moment, which marks a new and better beginning for the family, as we handover the house, complete and well painted.The Deputy Prime Minister’s Office is tasked with a heavy responsibility of ensuring a better welfare for all emaSwati. The Child Headed Household Farming Project aims at building resilience to vulnerable children, who may also be under the care of an impoverished or disabled elderly.This family we are gathered about, meets that criteria,” said the Justice Minister who was representing the DPM.

The handover of the house was witnessed by, among others, kaMethula Member of Parliament(MP) Derrick Masuku.

The project was supported by Baphalali Red Cross Society with a water tank, World Vision and Esicojeni Foundation,who supplied farm inputs, Buy Cash Hardware, who donated paint and the Minister of Justice who donated a bed.
