LAWUBA: Senator Themba Masuku, the Deputy Prime Minister(DPM) has been using a dilapidated road for many years since he became a politician.

The DPM has been failing to assist residents of the community by upgrading the 30km gravel road that is also leading to his residence at Lawuba, east of Hlathikhulu town.

But in a statement released on Wednesday evening, Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo said the Ministry of Public Works and Transport was committed into upgrading the country's roads which were damaged by the rains.

“One of the roads that have been hugely affected by these rains is the Mahlangatsha road in the Manzini region. Government has since deployed a team from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport to assess the road, as well as others, with a view of exploring mitigating measures that can be implemented",reads the statement in part.
