British Red Cross donates R250,000.00 to eSwatini political unrest victims.

MBABANE: Thulani Simelane,the Eswatini  Red Cross Society First Aid Coordinator has confirmed a donation of Two hundred and fifty thousand Rands(R250,000.00) to political unrest victims.

The once-off cash donation was made by the British Red Cross through the Eswatini Red Cross Society,it was shared by unrest victims who are members of the 

Swaziland Massacre Victims Survivors Association(SWAVISA).

“We can confirm that indeed Baphalali, through the support of the British Red Cross (BRC) has been able to offer a once-off cash assistance to some members of SWAVISA.We were approached by SWAVISA for help with their numerous needs.Although we realized that we could not help most of them, we shared their plight with our partners within the movement.It was then that the British Red Cross offered to help with cash assistance to about 260 most needful,"said the Eswatini Red Cross First Aid coordinator when speaking to this Swaziland News this week.

Vusi Sheldon Matsebula, the SWAVISA Programs Officer confirmed that his office received the support from the Eswatini Red Cross Society. 

“We are grateful to the Eswatini Red Cross Society for their assistance,it came at a time when most unrest victims were struggling, in need of medical assistance,”said the SWAVISA Programs Officer.
