MAHLABATSINI: Police shot a gunman at Mahlabatsini on Monday afternoon, a child was injured in the dramatic shootout chase.
A questionnaire was sent to Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the Police Spokesperson, however, she had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
But an eyewitness who was at the scene told this Swaziland News that he saw the police chasing and shooting the gunman who was shooting back.
“As you can see in the pictures, the police were chasing and shooting the gunman, the gunman was shooting back. Thereafter, the gunman rushed to hide in nearby flats, the police continued with the shooting and injured a child. The gunman then ran to a nearby forest but it seems like he was already shot at the time. If you can zoom those pictures, you will see the police in the forest, they were picking his body,” said the eyewitness when speaking to Swaziland News editor Zweli Martin Dlamini on Monday afternoon.
