MBABANE: Sinawo Thambo, the Spokesperson of the Economic Freedom Fighters(EFF) has, on behalf of the political organization,released a statement condemning the continuous attacks on PUDEMO’s National Organizer Penuel Malinga and his family.
The high profile political activist was attacked allegedly by State agents again in the hours on Monday at his Mobeni-Matsapha rented flat,he had relocated after his home at Mbekelweni was bombed,a Ford Ranger valued at R1million was burnt.
“The Economic Freedom Fighters(EFF) condemns in the strongest possible terms the callous attack on the family of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO)’s National Organizer and Women’s League President Xolile Dlamini by the State in eSwatini in the early hours this morning(Monday). The attack, which saw several bullets fired at her family home through the use of military weapons is callous,senseless and inhumane.The brutal act and other attacks which have been orchestrated by the State on the same family and other pro-democracy leaders in Swaziland, reveal a level of desperation that is symptomatic of a State that has lost legitimacy to govern over the affairs of the people of eSwatini,” reads the statement in part.
A questionnaire was sent to Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo, however, he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Thambo urged the South African Government to break its silence on the crimes against humanity committed in eSwatini.
