HLUTI: Baphalali Eswatini Red Cross Society has handed over a water project worth R2.7million to KaLiba residents under Hosea Inkhundla.
Baphalali through funding from British Red Cross was implementing a community health programme that targeted three components that include Water, Sanitation and Hygiene(WASH), Menstrual Health Management, and Nutritional Security initiatives at Silele Clinic’s catchment areas.
Speaking to this Swaziland News,Baphalali Eswatini Red Cross Spokesperson Nontobeko Mbuyane said the Kaliba Water Scheme is one of the largest projects her Organisation has completed around Hosea Constituency.
“We have supported many initiatives in the Hosea constituency, we then realized that the community's greatest need was for water. That is why we subsequently voiced the concern to our funders,”she said.
Kaliba Chief Mlotshwa was one the important guests during the opening of the project last month,the Chief urged residents to take charge of the water sources since it is their responsibility together with local leaders.
