MBABANE: Alpheous Nxumalo, the Government Spokesperson says eSwatini will not allow the international community to impose its will and demand an urgent investigation,regarding assassination of human rights lawyer Thulani Maseko as if Maseko’s life was more important that others.
This follows calls by the European Union(EU) and other international bodies,for an urgent investigation into death of the human rights lawyer who was the Chairperson of the pro-democracy MultiStakeholder Forum (MSF).
Speaking to the South African Broadcasting Corporation(SABC)on Tuesday morning,the Government Spokesperson said Maseko’s death would not be investigated in isolation since there were many other community leaders, security officers and civilians who have been assassinated in the midst of the political unrest.
“We are not going to allow the so called international community which you can see,is international gangs who are trying to impose their will on Swazis on how to carry out their business,”said the Government Spokesperson.
