WINDHOEK:Penuel Malinga,the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) National Organizing Secretary(NOS) has urged Namibian civil society groups to support the struggle against King Mswati’s regime.
Speaking to Namibia’s Eagle FM on Tuesday, the PUDEMO leader said Swazis were not far from attaining democracy.
“We appeal to all progressive forces in Namibia, that they must rally against Mswati’s regime and support the calls for democracy in Swaziland. With the support of the Namibians,people in the region, we are sure that we will attain our freedom and our freedom is nearer, is not that far. We need the international support,” said the PUDEMO National Organizer.
Malinga was among other political leaders who travelled to Namibia ahead of the Southern African Development Community(SADC) Troika Summit to lobby regional leaders to put pressure on Mswati amid the political tension in this troubled Kingdom.
On another note, eSwatini Prime Minister Cleopas Dlamini urged SADC to assist the country to counter what he described as terrorism.
