BANNED MPs LAWYER SICELO MNGOMEZULU: I will come back soon in a new democratic Swaziland.

MBABANE: Sicelo Mngomezulu, the lawyer representing incarcerated pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs) Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube who was banned by King Mswati from entering eSwatini, says he will come back soon in a new democratic Swaziland.

Responding to a questionnaire from this Swaziland News on Tuesday, the lawyer said just like him, it would be undesirable for the King to be separated with the country of his birth.

“I also consider it inhumane for me to have been banned from my Motherland - Swaziland. I was born there, I spent my formative years Ensangwini before I started primary education at Ngwane Park Primary School in 1986, I then went to St Paul's High School in 1993,  whereafter I enrolled at the University of Swaziland in 1998. With this history in mind, it stands to reason that I'd consider it impermissible for anyone to separate me from Emaswati. It is for this reason that I'd keep advocating for a Swaziland that is democratic, free from impunity or being ruled at whims of a single individual. I therefore regard my ban to be a temporal inconvenience. I love Swaziland, I love Emaswati. Often, I feel I owe my very existence and all my successes to Swaziland. Believe me when I say, I'll be back soon, hopefully in a Swaziland that'd be free from despotic rule and tyranny,” said the lawyer.

Mngomezulu was banned by Mswati from entering eSwatini after donating a cow to residents of Hosea who boycotted uMhlanga Reed Dance ceremony.
