MBABANE: Barnes Dlamini, the newly elected President of the Swaziland Democratic Party(SWADEPA) says holding meeting in expensive hotels won’t liberate the people but mass action against the regime.

Speaking on this Swaziland News current affairs programme on Tuesday during a discussion with other political leaders,Dlamini said he strongly believed people were now fully informed regarding the state of political affairs in the country adding that the public must now unite in a mass action.

“You once criticized us as political leaders that we are holding meeting in hotels instead of working and I believe the time for meetings is over. We need a mass action now to liberate the people,” said the SWADEPA President.

Dlamini urged the public not to sit down and expect that political leaders would liberate them, he mantained that unity for a common purpose among the people would usher the country into a new democratic dispensation.

Dlamini is the former President of the Trade Union Congress of Swaziland(TUCOSWA), he was mentored into politics by the late vibrant unionist and political leader Jan Sithole.

The SWADEPA President was the right-hand man of the assassinated human rights lawyer Thulani Maseko and was working closely with him and other pro-democracy leaders in uniting political parties and the civil society through the MultiStakeholder Forum(MSF).
