MBABANE:Bhekithemba Gama,the Principal Secretary(PS) in the Ministry of Education and Training has urged children,teachers, parents and all citizens to ensure safety amid flooding rivers.
Responding to our questions on whether teachers and children should stay home in the midst of the floods, the PS was not specific in his response but encouraged everyone to prioritize safety.
“To us as a Ministry,people must take caution when rivers are flooded. This applies to all people who have to cross flooded rivers and streams. Sicela bonkhe who are affected kutsi bacaphele because the rain has caused rivers and streams to swell,” said the Principal Secretary on Thursday evening.
Eswatini is facing floods that hit other countries within the Sub-Saharan Africa region, some of the flooding rivers include the Great Usuthu, Black Mbuluzi and Mkhondvo River.
On another note, the police issued a notice on Thursday evening with a list of flooding rivers.
This include Mbuluzi via Mbelebeleni-Luve, Ngwempisi and Ngwempisana rivers.
Other rivers include Mlumati and uMgubudla among others.
