FIGHT AGAINST GENDER BASED VIOLENCE:MTN Foundation pumps-in another R300,000.00 to One Billion Rising,monies to fund community projects.

MANZINI: MTN Foundation has donated another Three hundred Thousand Rand(R300,000.00) to One Billion Rising Eswatini to be used in empowering one hundred(100)women to start business in five(5)communities.

The funds will also be used to establish community circles on ending Gender Based violence(GBV)which includes empowerment of women on their rights.  The support was presented during the Artistic Convention held on Saturday at Mavuso Trade Centre.

MTN Chairperson representative Siboniso Madlopha said as a Foundation they fully understand their role in addressing social challenges affecting the Kingdom of eSwatini.

"We are happy to share that we are yet again in 2023 investing a sum of E300 000.00 which will be shared amongst additional five(5)communities towards Gender Based Violence(GBV) Circles and entrepreneurial empowerment for women and girls.This contribution from MTN Foundation reaffirms its commitment to supporting Women and Girls",said MTN Board Member.

Colani Hlatjwako,the One Billion Rising Africa Regional Coordinator expressed greatest appreciation on behalf of the organization for the continued support from MTN Foundation. 

“We really appreciate MTN Foundation for leading by example.Ending Violence against women requires all of us to work together and support the fight against this scourge.We need more sustainable strategies,”said the One Billion Rising Africa Coordinator.
