GEGE: King Mswati’s Taiwanese investor Shangnan John Fan allegedly invaded Gege in the South-western parts of the Kingdom of eSwatini and forcefully grabbed land.
John Fan is the Director of Nhlangano FTM, about ten(10) families in this community were affected by the Taiwanese land grabbing.
Speaking to this Swaziland News, Gogo Mahilda Ndaba said as far as she knew, the land was obtained through concessions made about one hundred (100)years ago, during the reign of King Sobhuza.
“Our fields have been planted with timber trees, and we can no longer plough or graze on them.Even the burying of our loved ones has been banned, we carry their bodies to burry them in other communities who normally assist us",she said.
Efforts to reach FTM boss Shangnan John Fan for comments proved futile.
But Albert Mdziniso, the Taiwanese right-hand man, told this Swaziland News journalist to back off and stop calling his number.
“First and foremost, you must tell me where you obtained my mobile phone number?I don't have time for you; if you want to question me about farm issues, you must come straight to me,"he said.
Sikhumbuzo Malinga, the Indvuna for Tsambekwako Royal Kraal, said he was aware of the land dispute in the area.
