LOBAMBA: Six(6)Members of Parliament(MPs)had to snub the official opening of Parliament by King Mswati amid plot to poison them.
MP Timothy Myeni(Nkilongo) Manzi Zwane(Nhlambeni),Simosakhe Shongwe(Mtsambama)and Nomalungelo “LaZwide” Simelane from Siphofaneni, Honorable Ndumiso Masimula(Lomahasha) and Somntongo MP Dumsani Mbhamali were not present in Parliament on Friday.
Reached for comments,MP Timothy Myeni confirmed that he did not attend the official opening of Parliament amid a plot to poison him.
“I will share a detailed comment later, but there was a plot to poison us there,”said the MP.
Siphofaneni MP LaZwide said she was in church and promised to share a comment later.
Efforts by this Swaziland News to reach MPs Manzi Zwane, Dumsani Mbhamali and Simosakhe Shongwe proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
Reached for comments, Lomahasha MP Ndumiso Masimula said he reported to the Speaker that he will not attend as he was not feeling well.
”I reported to the Speaker that I was not feeling well and he suggested that I must stay at home,” said the Lomahasha MP.
Speaker Petros Mavimbela had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
King Mswati, an absolute Monarch officialy opened Parliament on Friday, indicated that it was the last session of the 11th Parliament of the Kingdom of eSwatini.
