MBABANE:Mlungisi Makhanya, the President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) says as an organization, they don’t subscribe to violence but support peaceful means to resolve conflicts.
But the PUDEMO President said as an organization, they have a ‘principle’ suggesting that any security officer who used violence against one of their members would have provoked the entire political organization.
Speaking to this Swaziland News current affairs programme on Tuesday, the PUDEMO President said they learnt a lesson from previous experiences of the late PUDEMO President Mario Masuku who was persecuted and isolated by the regime.
“As the current generation of PUDEMO members, we took a decision that we must not allow this regime to target, persecute and isolate one member from the others.Sitsi-ke tsine akukho lizinyane lemvubu leladliwa tingwenya sasala sitiba sihlobile. Nakuke kwenteka le-regime yatsintsa munye noma labanye betfu, kufuna silingise tinyatsi,” said the PUDEMO President.
On another note, the PUDEMO President said as an organization, they declared 2018-2028 as a decade of liberation adding that they introduced various programs that sought to liberate Swazis. He encouraged Swazis to remain courageous as democracy would soon be achieved.
