MBABANE:Senator Themba Masuku,the Deputy Prime Minister(DPM) is allegedly distributing Taiwan rice as a campaign tool for former Dvokodweni Member of Parliament(MP) Stezi Dlamini, this publication has gathered.
The DPM through the Disaster Department is a custodian of donated food and other resources,it is alleged that he now uses some of the resources to campaign for some of the Tinkhundla preferred election candidates.
Reached for comments, Mduduzi Magagula,the current Dvokodweni MP confirmed knowledge of the alleged campaigning by the DPM using Taiwan rice.
“I did hear about it though angikayboni kepha sive besitfola i-rice ku ex-MP as from last year.Its a campaign tool”,said the MP in a message sent to this Swaziland News.
A questionnaire was sent to Deputy Prime Minister,however,he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Taiwan Ambassador Jeremy Liang donated rice to Government, it was later reported by this publication that the rice might be used to campaign for MPs who will protect the interests of Taiwan and the Monarchy.
It has been disclosed that the Government has already identified and supporting people who will stand for the upcoming Tinkhundla election, Dvokodvweni Bucopho beNkhundla Seven Days Tsabedze is allegedly used to campaign for former MP Stezi.
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Sunday, Dvokodweni Constituency Bucopho(Development Officer) Seven Days Tsabedze first denied that rice was distributed as a campaign tool for the former Member of Parliament.
“It’s not true that the DPM is distributing rice on behalf of former MP Stezi.If that is happening,maybe Stezi is doing it on his own and there’s nothing wrong with that because people are hungry. Where did you get such information? When will the story come-out?” said the Dvokodvweni Bucopho beNkhundla.
