MBABANE:Phila Buthelezi,the Minister of Labour and Social Security has warned University students against insulting King Mswati when protesting and delivering petitions.
The Minister was speaking during a press conference at Ezulwini on Monday.
“We have noted that their Majesties are normally insulted during delivery of petitions, this must stop,”said the Minister.
Worth-noting, scholarships are not paid by Mswati but by taxpayers.
Speaking to this Swaziland News,Colani Maseko,the President of the Swaziland National Union of Students(SNUS) said the Minister was trying to cover-up his failure by accusing students of insulting the King.
“The truth of the matter is that people who hold public office are subjected to harsh criticism sometimes, that’s cannot be interpreted as insults.The Minister is trying to cover-up his dereliction of duties because issues of scholarships are under his Ministry,”said the Students President.
