LOBAMBA:Marwick Khumalo,the Lobamba Lomdzala Member of Parliament(MP) came hard on Deputy Prime Minister(DPM)Themba Masuku for using State resources to campaign for aspiring MPs of his choice across the country.
The DPM Themba Masuku stands accused of distributing rice and food parcels in various constituencies to campaign for those who are loyal to the undemocratic Tinkhundla system of governance.
Speaking in Parliament on Thursday, MP Khumalo warned the DPM to desist from such tactics as they were divisive,he accused the DPM of using the National Disaster Management Agency(NDMA) to serve a political agenda.
“The DPM arrived at Lobamba Lomdzala around the festive season but as we speak,nothing has been delivered.It is clear that the NDMA is now a political machinery serving a political agenda.I do not understand Mr Chairman why all of a sudden, the Deputy Prime Minister has become such a divisive figure, his politics now have become so discriminatory and selective,”said the MP.
The Lobamba Lomdzala MP said while working as a journalist covering Parliament stories some years ago, he knew the DPM as a man of integrity but maintained that Themba Masuku had changed to be a divisive figure.
“The people of Lobamba Lomdzala are paying tax like all citizens but when it comes to services and assistance from Government,the so called NDMA excludes them.It’s only publicity that we see,let the publicity be commensurate with the action. Asingajaki kutfola i-publicity mahhala kodvwa i-delivery ingabonakali,” said the MP.
