ARMY SPOKESPERSON LIEUTENANT TENGETILE KHUMALO: Alleged shooting and killing case of Amen Mavimbela by soldiers handed over to the police.

MBABANE:Lieutenant Tengetile Khumalo,the Spokesperson of the Umbutfo Eswatini Defense Force(UEDF) says the alleged shooting and killing case of Amen Mavimbela at Mpuluzi informal crossing has been handed over to the police.

Responding to a questionnaire from this Swaziland News on Thursday, the Army Spokesperson said as a result, the matter is now outside the jurisdiction of her office.

“Matters handed over to the relevant enforcement by the establishment are outside the ambit of the Office of the public affairs.Kindly contact the pertinent law enforcement agency in this regard (REPS)”,said the Army Spokesperson.

Superintendent Phindile Vilakati,the eSwatini Police Spokesperson joined the fast lane and declined to comment on the matter.

Amen Mavimbela was allegedly shot and killed by soldiers at Mpuluzi last weekend merely for attempting to cross ‘illegally’ from eSwatini to the Republic of South Africa.
