MANKAYANE:Wandile Dludlu, the newly elected Deputy President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) led a delegation of senior members on Thursday to protest at Mankayane Government Hospital amid allegations suggesting that the body of Amen Mavimbela had disappeared within the health facility.

Mavimbela was allegedly shot and killed by soldiers at Mpuluzi informal crossing last weekend for attempting to cross to South Africa ‘illegally’.

It is alleged that the police later grabbed the body and removed the bullets with the intention to conceal evidence,Mavimbela’s body was subsequently found at Dups Mortuary.

Speaking during the protest,Sakhile Awuviva Nxumalo, the PUDEMO Youth League President told patients who were found at the hospital that they would not receive medication because of King Mswati’s oppressive and autocratic regime.

“The only thing that these nurses can do is to prescribe the medication for you. This is caused by the Government of Makhosetive Dlamini that is failing to ensure that hospitals have enough medication,”said the President of the Swaziland Youth Congress(SWAYOCO).

The PUDEMO senior members then delivered a petition demanding answers on the disappearance of Amen Mavimbela’s corpse.

“There were multiple reports of victims whose bodies were demanded and tempered with to retrieve bullets in an attempt to conceal evidence to continue with the narrative of mercenaries killing Swazis,” reads the petition in part, delivered at the Mankayane Government Hospital.
