MBABANE: Eswatini Auctioners(PTY) LTD has advertised properties on Swazi Nation Land(SNL)grabbed from citizens under the Prevention of Organized Crime Act(POCA),the properties are to be sold on public auction on Wednesday.
POCA was previously challenged through a Parliament motion by incarcerated Member of Parliament(MP)Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza who alleged that the law was being manipulated to target the powerless and vulnerable.
King’s Interpreter Sihle Dlamini,a mere civil servant and an alleged millionaire was exposed by this Swaziland News after being accused of corruptioni and or money laundering.
But there was no investigation under the Prevention of Organized Crime Act(POCA) despite the fact that part of his bank statements were published to substantiate the allegations.
A questionnaire was sent to King’s Spokesperson Percy Simelane, however,he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Reached for comments,Sikelela Dlamini, the Secretary General of the pro-democracy Multi-Stakeholder Forum (MSF) said it was clear that POCA was targeting citizens who were not closely linked to the authorities.
“But in a democratic dispensation,we will grab the properties accumulated through corruption from those who were linked to the authorities and share with the people,”said the MSF Secretary General.
