GENEVA:Phila Buthelezi, the Minister of Labour and Social Security is currently in Geneva,Switzerland, attending the 347th session of the Governing Body of the International Labour Organization (ILO), Government online platforms reported on Wednesday.
“Eswatini is a titular(regular)member of the ILO Governing Body representing the SADC region.At the meeting, Minister Buthelezi delivered a statement on behalf of the Africa Group on the establishment of a Global Coalition for Social Justice. The Coalition seeks to strengthen partnerships and enhance collaboration and cooperation between the ILO and its Tripartite constituents with the wider UN multilateral system and other allied partners.Eswatini has recently adopted and launched the 2nd generation Decent Work Country Programme(DWCP) for 2022-2025. The adoption of the DWCP has positioned the country well to have some of its programmes and priorities funded by the ILO.The meeting ends on 23 March 2023.,” reads the Government online report.
