One of the definitions of corruption is the abuse of power for personal gain,and this is exactly what Housing and Urban Development Principal Secretary(PS)Clifford Mamba has been doing in his over twenty years of public service.
The R12million Local Government Elections tender awarded to Slomoes Cooperation is a clear act of corruption with substantive evidence suggesting that other entities including the Royal Science Technology Park offered to conduct the elections with a mere eight hundred thousand Rands(R800,000.00).
PS Clifford Mamba is corrupt to the core,he has been using his syndicate within the Municipalities to grab land from the poor and sell it to the rich and powerful.
Now,at the time when the country is struggling financially,PS Clifford Mamba has the guts to steal more than R10million from public coffers while disregarding the social challenges affecting the people.
Indeed,there’s a high possibility that Slomoes would conduct the elections with a mere R2million.
The R10 million corruption and or undue benefit would be shared between Slomoes Director Lucky Dlamini,Clifford Mamba and other individuals next to the King who are expected to convince Mswati to offer the PS who is due for retirement,a new contract.
The amount of money stolen by Clifford Mamba suggests that he is a mastermind of corruption,money is scarce in eSwatini these days but it seems like R12million is nothing to the PS.
After all,he is used to stealing large amounts of money and selling plots within the Municipalities grabbed from the poor.
In light of the aforementioned,it is advisable that Parliament must,as a matter of urgency,launch an investigation into this corrupt tender,Clifford Mamba must appear before a Select Committee.
