HOSEA:Bheki Mabuza,the elder brother to incarcerated pro-democracy Member of Parliament(MP)Bacede Mabuza has appealed for peace in the troubled KaLiba Chiefdom,he advised ‘on the run’ Chief Mlotjwa to apologise to the Hosea residents.
The Chief has been in the ‘wilderness’ for sometime now,he was forced out of his Umphakatsi after he tried to intimidate protesting residents who were demanding the release of incarcerated MP Bacede Mabuza.
The MP was jailed by King Mswati for demanding democracy on behalf of the residents.Subsequently,the Royal Kraal was burnt several times as tension escalated within the community of KaLiba.
Chief Mlotjwa when speaking on Monday in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister(DPM)Themba Masuku during the planting of a tree event at Silele Clinic as part of the World Forestry Day,appealed for assistance to restore peace and stability in his area,he said he was tired of hiding.
“I was forced into hiding by the current situation and I’m living like an animal,”said the Chief.
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Wednesday,Bacede Mabuza’s brother Bheki Mabuza said as a family,they recognized the Chief as their traditional leader adding that it was dangerous for a community to be without a leader for such a long time.
“It is for these reasons we appeal for peace within the community and equally advise the Chief to call a meeting and apologise to the residents for uttering statements that angered them and resulted to the chaos.The Chief must also avoid suppressing and preventing the residents from protesting,demanding the release of their MP as long as they are doing that within the confines of the Constitution,”said the brother to the incarcerated pro-democracy MP.
