JOHANNESBURG:Julius Malema, the Commander-in Chief of the Economic Freedom Fighters(EFF)has assured Russian President Vladimir Putin that no one will arrest him when he arrives in South Africa.

Russian President Vladimir Putin who is wanted by the International Criminal Court(ICC) for war crimes he allegedly committed in Ukraine,is highly expected to participate in a BRICS Summit to take place on the 22nd to 24th August 2023 in South Africa.

BRICS stands for Brazil,Russia, India,China and South Africa, this is an organization of countries of the world's leading emerging market economies.

Speaking during a press conference held here in Johannesburg on Thursday, the EFF leader said if need be,they would escort President Vladimir Putin to the airport to ensure that he was not arrested and safe.

“We know the murderers of this world, that former Prime Minister Tony Blair admitted that they made a horrible mistake when it comes to Saddam Hussein, they have not been charged to date.Bush is still there, they have not been charged to date. Then Obama killed Gaddafi, nothing has happened,we are here today with Libya being destroyed and unable to recover because of America. We know very well that where NATO gets involved, those are terrorists. We know very well that when the US says we are going to install peace, that place will never know peace as long as America has visited that place. So,we don’t want the ICC’s hypocrisy to apply here in our country, President Putin is welcome. We know our friends, we know the people who liberated us, we know the people who supported us,”said the EFF leader.
