NGCULWINI:Advisor Ndlovu,a teacher by profession had his car hit from behind by speeding police officers who subsequently produced a gun and forced him to admit the traffic offense.
The accident occurred at around 8:30am on Sunday at or near Jubela,Ntabamhloshana next to Ngculwini along the road to Siphofaneni.
The eyewitness who took pictures told this Swaziland News that the teacher was driving a RunX and he reduced speed trying to take a gravel road,off from the main road,but the speeding officers emerged and hit his car from behind.
“Tilwane leti, kahle-kahle tiyitfukele lemoto ngoba lona bekahamba ngatsi akayati kahle lendzawo afuna kungena.Tatsi naticedza kumshayisa takhipha sibhamu tabita baka-traffic tambeka emacala,licala ligcine litfweswa lothishela(meaning: After hitting him,they produced a gun and charged him with several traffic offences).They forced him to Mafutseni Police Station where he was intimidated,they informed him about a lot of charges so that he could feel the police were lenient by releasing him.I then spoke to one of the traffic officers who responded to the accident scene and he told me that hitting a car from behind is an offence and the police officers were wrong.So you can contact your traffic sources there, they will tell you about the case,”said the eyewitness.
Reached for comments,Advisor Ndlovu said he was traumatized and not ready to speak about the matter.
“I am not ready to speak about what befell me and I don’t know who took this matter to journalists,”said the teacher.
A questionnaire was sent to Superintendent Phindile Vilakati,the police Spokesperson,however,she had not responded at the time of compiling things report.
It has been disclosed that the police normally manipulate traffic reports to avoid accountability at Government level when they cause accidents.
