MBABANE:Incarcerated pro-democracy Member of Parliament (MP) Bacede Mabuza might sue one of the ‘anti-dialogue’ group members.
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Tuesday, Mhlengi Mabuza, the MP’s lawyer, said as a legal team, they will consult with the incarcerated MP first before taking a final decision whether to sue the man who defamed their client or not.
The lawyer said at this juncture, they were looking for details about the man who uttered alleged defamatory statements against the MP in a circulating video when opposing a national dialogue.
The man alleged that MP Bacede Mabuza accumulated questionable wealth and might have benefited from outsiders funding the struggle with an intention to steal wealth belonging to Swazis.
“We strongly believe the statements are defamatory, but we will consult the client first before taking further action against the individual,"said the lawyer.
It is alleged that royalty organised a group of men during Mswati’s Good Friday Services, ‘anti dialogue’ t-shirts were distributed to men and women to attack those calling for democracy and demanding a political dialogue.
