MBABANE: Eswatini Prime Minister(PM) Cleopas Dlamini has commended efforts to establish a Medical School within the the Eswatini Christian Medical University(ECMU).

The eSwatini Prime Minister was speaking during the institution of higher learning’s 6th graduation ceremony held in Mbabane on Friday.

The sentiments of the PM comes at a time when University students and the entire education system face serious challenges, more public resources are allocated to sustain the lavish lifestyle of Mswati,an absolute Monarch.

\"There are important Eswatini Higher Education Council standards to be met but I would like to believe that it will not be long before the Hon Minister of Education and Training advises cabinet that all is in order for full accreditation of the programme. It is my ardent hope that the institution will develop to become one of the leading institutions in Africa,” said the PM as quoted by eSwatini Government online platforms.

But in 2018,the University was forced to stop all operations, it is alleged that King Mswati lll was demanding 60% ownership of the institution of higher learning.

As the pressure escalates, the Eswatini Higher Education Council (ESHEC) defended Mswati\'s alleged greediness, claiming the institution of higher learning was not accredited and or meeting the required standard to be approved as a Medical University among other excuses.

But the PM, when addressing guests during the graduation said government was committed to minimize the disruption of teaching and learning due to the late release of personal allowances.

\"Government would also like to assure the students that action is being taken to minimize the disruption of teaching and learning due to the late release of personal allowances,”said the Prime Minister as quoted by Government online platforms.
