MBABANE: Brian Sihlongonyane, the member of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) who was abducted and subsequently tortured by Mswati’s soldiers after attending the April 12th,1973 Decree Commemoration, says he won’t dump the struggle for democracy.
Sihlongonyane participated in a protest with other political activists who delivered a petition at the United Nations (UN)Eswatini offices in Mbabane on Wednesday.
Speaking to this Swaziland News, the political activist said he fainted twice during the extreme torture and was later dumped around Esibayeni Lodge in the densely populated Matsapha Industrial Town.
"I was taken to a forest, where I was insulted, threatened, and subsequently tortured.Thereafter,I was assaulted and questioned about guns,"said the PUDEMO member.
A questionnaire was sent to Lieutenant Tengetile Khumalo,the Army Spokesperson,however,she had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Mswati,an absolute monarch,continues to use violence to silence dissenting voices,dozens have been killed,others shot, and others forced into disability since the political unrest erupted in June 2021.
