MBABANE: The South African Transport and Allied Worker’s Union (SATAWU) has comdemned the attack and harassment directed to the Secretary General of the Swaziland Transport, Communications and Allied Worker's Union (SWATCAWU) Sticks Nkambule by King Mswati and his soldiers.
In a statement released on Thursday, SATAWU Secretary General Jack Mazibuko said King Mswati and his police have been torturing, kidnapping and wrongfully arresting SWATCAWU leaders for years now and as a result, some comrades have lost their lives.
” King Mswati and his police have been torturing, kidnapping and wrongfully arresting SWATCAWU leaders for years and some comrades have lost their lives,”reads the statement in part.
Nkambule was taken to court by Mswati's government for allegedly implementing a national shutdown against the order of the court.
Nkambule is also among leaders who are wanted dead by Mswati's state agents. Late last year Mswati's police invaded Sticks Nkambule's home and harrased his mother. He was forced to leave Swaziland late last year in fear of his life.
