NHLANGANO:Celumusa Thokozani Khumalo, the Ngwane Teachers College Principal has written a memorandum informing students and Lecturers about the closure of the institution of higher learning.
“This memo serves to inform the academic staffing the general student’s body of the closure of the college indefinitely and all students are expected to vacate the premises of the college by 09:30 am on the 24th of April 2023,” reads the memo in part.
It is alleged that the Bursar of the institution was reluctant to submit students invoices to the Ministry of Labour and Social Security yet students were expecting their allowances month end.
Speaking to the Swaziland News shortly after the closure of the College, Mfanasibili Siyaya, the Swaziland National Union of Students(SNUS)Ngwane College Branch Secretary said they were disappointed with the administration of the institution.
“We are disappointed on how the administration handled our grievances,we were only demanding answers as to why the bursar delayed submitting our invoices to the Ministry. As we were demonstrating ,they called law enforcement officers and we were served with a memorandum informing us about the closure of the College,”said the Branch Secretary.
