MATHANGENI:Pastor Mfanasibili Nkambule of the Mathangeni Pentecost church told members of the Logoba Inner Council to back-off and distanced themselves from the ongoing demolition of Spaza shops next to his church.
Nkambule is the Pentecost Pastor who hired a bulldozer on Friday to demolish Spaza shops and other temporal structures next to his church, saying they were undermining the beauty of the building.
“Don’t even involve yourself in this matter,if possible take legal action and let’s take the matter from there,” said the Pastor to members of Logoba Council during the meeting on Sunday.
The members of the Inner Council had arrived at Mathangeni Pentecost church on Sunday to seek answers why Nkambule demolished the Spaza Shops, however,it transpired that Nkambule was loyal to Masundvwini Royal Kraal,a traditional structure that is more powerful than the Logoba Inner Council.
The Masudvwini Council is said to have provided the Pastor with armed police officers to provide security while bulldozer was destroying the structures.
