HOSEA: Lindiwe Fakudze, the mother to deceased police recruit Simhle Fakudze says the police ordered her to issue a warning and ban all members of political parties from attending the funeral of her daughter.
The police recruit died in a car accident at Sidvokodvo this week, she was a member of the newly formed Swazis First Democratic Front(SFDF) who managed to be employed in the police service, despite a vetting process meant to disqualify those calling for democratic reforms.
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Wednesday, the mother to the deceased cop said the police informed her that they won’t be comfortable with the presence of political parties who might attend the funeral.
“I had no idea that Simhle was a party affiliate, I learned about her from online platform reports. To be honest, I don’t need any political party interfering with the funeral preparations. Otherwise, the police have threatened to withdraw their services if we allow partisan interference,” she said.
Police Spokesperson Superintendent Phindile Vilakati had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Meanwhile, a group of Hosea activists forced their way-in on Wednesday, to mourn after being refused entry by family members.
