MBABANE:Neal Rijikernberg, the Minister of Finance a formal coordinated approach of managing the border must be adopted, Government online platforms reported on Monday.
The Finance Minister was speaking when meeting the visiting Secretary General of the World Customs Organization Dr Kunio Mikuriya.
“The role of Customs is changing very fast and requires Customs to respond to the demands of a fast and ever changing environment such as increased volumes and complexities of trade, new business models and requirements, increased security threats and organised crime, a new approach to the border, demands from security, new trading patterns and increase in revenue fraud, e-Commerce, disruptive technologies, big data, the list is endless,” said the Minister as quoted by Government online platforms.
The meeting between the Minister and the World Customs Organization Secretary General was attended by among others, Eswatini Revenue Service Commissioner General Brightwell Nkambule and Business Eswatini Chief Executive Officer(CEO) Nathie Dlamini.
