MBABANE: Lucky Lukhele, the Spokesperson of the Swaziland Solidarity Network (SSN) has Welcomed the United States (US) Senate resolution 174, condemning the ongoing human rights violations in the Kingdom Of eSwatini and the brutal killing of eSwatini human rights lawyer Thulani Rudolf Maseko.
The resolution is expected to be debated and adopted by the US Senate Congress and soon thereafter, a decision against eSwatini will be taken.
In a public statement sent to this Swaziland News on Wednesday, the organization said the Senators correctly observed that King Mswati\'s Tinkhundla regime has for a long time, consistently and with impunity violated Human Rights without being held accountable.
\"The Senators correctly observed that King Mswati\'s Tinkhundla regime has for a long time, consistently and with impunity, violated Human Rights without being held accountable.
When the Swazi people began challenging this, their efforts were met with disproportionate repression which culminated in the cold-blooded assassination of well-known Human Rights lawyer Thulani Maseko.
Despite this political turmoil, the King\'s responded by hiring mercenaries to increase the repression on dissidents. This is clearly not a solution,” reads the statement in part.
