EZULWINI: The Political Parties Assembly (PPA),the Multi-Stakeholder Forum(MSF)and Swaziland United Democratic Front (SUDF)submitted a letter on Friday to the US Embassy, appreciating the United States (US)Senate resolution 174,condemning the ongoing human rights violations in the Kingdom of eSwatini and the brutal killing of eSwatini human rights lawyer Thulani Rudolf Maseko.
The resolution is expected to be debated and adopted by the US Senate Congress and soon thereafter, a decision against eSwatini will be taken.
The letter directed to the head of mission in Eswatini Charge d’Affairs Earl Miller welcomed and appreciated the United States of America resolution 174 regarding the call for an inclusive political dialogue before the national parliamentary elections.
“The Mass Democratic Movement(MDM)as led by the Swaziland United Democratic Front (SUDF), the Political Party Assembly (PPA) and the Multi Stakeholders Forum (MSF) on behalf of the majority oppressed and exploited suffering people of our country eSwatini, we acknowledge and welcome the US resolution 174,raised by Senators Chris Crouns, Jim Risch, Cory Booker and Tim Scott, clearly condemning the ongoing human rights violations in the Kingdom Of eSwatini and the brutal killing of eSwatini human rights lawyer Thulani Rudolf Maseko on 21st January 2023,” reads the appreciation letter in part.
MSF was represented by Ncobile Mazibuko, the PPA was represented by the Head of Secretariat Thami Hlatjwako,the SUDF was represented by its Chairperson Lucky Dlamini, the Swaziland Rural Women Assembly(SRWA)represented by its Secretary General Cecile Dlamini when the letter of appreciation was submitted at the US Embassy.
