Finance Minister Neal Rijikernberg officially opens Nedbank Buhleni Branch, says financial institution paid R103million dividends to Government.

BUHLENI: Neal Rijikernberg, the Minister of Finance says Nedbank Eswatini has paid R103million dividends to the government since its establishment in the Kingdom.

Speaking during the official opening of Nedbank Buhleni Branch on Saturday,the Minister said as a shareholder of Nedbank Eswatini, Government was impressed with the continued good financial performance of the bank. “Nedbank has paid a dividend of E103m to the Eswatini Government since establishment in the Kingdom.Such contributions by the bank, including the corporate taxes paid by the bank annually, help in ensuring that Government continues providing the much-needed essential services to the economy, such as infrastructural development, health, education and is able to meet other socio-economic needs of the country,” said the Minister as quoted by Government online platforms.

On another note, Central Bank Deputy Governor Felicia Dlamini-Kunene said banks including Nedbank Eswatini, have the responsibility to provide employment to emaSwati.

“I am hopeful that the repurposed Buhleni branch will provide employment opportunities for the youth especially young graduates from the area,” she said.
