MBABANE:Makhosi Simelane,the Under Secretary in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has been appointed as the Acting Principal Secretary(PS).
This comes after the retirement of Clifford Mamba,the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.
In a memorandum dated 15th May 2023,addressed to all Principal Secretaries and Head of Departments, Victor Nxumalo, the Secretary to Cabinet said the appointment was approved by the Civil Service Commission(CSC).
“This is to inform that the Civil Service Commission has approved the acting paid appointment of Mr. Makhosi Simelane, Under Secretary-Technical as Acting Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development for a period not exceeding two(2) months effective from 15th May 2023”, reads the memorandum in possession of this Swaziland News, signed by the Secretary to Cabinet.
A questionnaire was sent to Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo, however,he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
On another note,the retirement of PS Clifford Mamba comes at the time when his administration was marred by allegations of fraud corruption,he was recently implicated in a R12million Local Government Elections tender scandal, the tender was awarded to Slomoes Corporation.
The retired PS was also exposed to be owning watches collectively, worth over R4million and a Gucci belts worth over twenty-one thousands(R21,000.00)each.
