VUVULANE:Jabulani Mabuza,the Acting Minister of Natural Resources and Energy has launched the Ready Boards Project at Khomba-so community, Vuvulane,in the Lubombo Region.
According to eSwatini Government online platforms, the Minister described the project as: “one of the key milestones in the Ministry’s rural electrification program.”
When asked by this Swaziland News on Wednesday to clarify how a Ready Board operates, Khaya Mavuso, the Eswatini Electricity Company(EEC)described a Ready Board as a small gadget used to distribute power in a small building of two rooms or less.
“Since no wiring is needed, extension cables are used to supply power from the gadget to places where power is needed.When using Ready Board, one does not need to electrically wire their property,” said the Electricity Company Communications Manager.
On another note, Minister Mabuza said Khomba-so aas one of the many communities that have received financial support from the Rural Electrification Access Fund to install the grid electricity infrastructure.
“However, a majority of the community members lack funds to install the required house wiring.His Majesty, in his Speech from the Throne, highlighted that the Government is developing a model for the installation of distribution ready boards for households lacking funds to install the required house wiring. I am pleased to announce that the Ministry is now ready to commence this project,” said the Acting Natural Resources Minister.
