LUBULINI: Sakhile ‘Awviva’ Nxumalo, the President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) Youth League has urged young people to boycott the upcoming Tinkhundla undemocratic elections.
Speaking during the PUDEMO Anti-Tinkhundla Elections Campaign at Lubulini on Thursday, the President of the Swaziland Youth Congress(SWAYOCO) said it was pointless to vote under the current system of governance as those who were voted never prioritized the needs of the people.
“As SWAYOCO we urge young people to boycott Mswati's sham elections, because it is pointless to vote for an individual into Parliament who will never champion the issues of the people. Young people must refuse to be used. Mswati and his friends have no interest of the people at heart" said the SWAYOCO President.
PUDEMO organized a soccer tournament at Lubulini to educate young people about the importance of boycotting the Tinkhundla elections.
The tournament was attended by among others, PUDEMO Deputy President Wandile Dludlu and other members of the National Executive Commitee(NEC).
