MBABANE:Wander Mkhonza, the Secretary General of the Amalgamated Trade Union of Swaziland(ATUSWA) says, they can assist the retrenched Carson Motors employees to take billionaire Moses Motsa to court.

This comes after the prominent billionaire allegedly ‘closed’ the company, leased the premises to Mercedes Benz and subsequently ‘disappeared’ without paying the Carson Motors employees their terminal benefits.

The multi-billionaire businessman told this Swaziland News on Tuesday that he was in Durban and as a result, was struggling to hear what this journalist was talking about, perhaps, due to network challenges.

But surprisingly, the network was stable and it ‘started’ developing challenges after this journalist questioned the billionaire when will he pay the retrenched employees their terminal benefits.

“I am in Durban and I can’t hear you, let’s talk tomorrow,” said the billionaire.

On another note, Wander Mkhonza, the ATUSWA Secretary General said they normally assist such employees but advised that all workers in the country must subscribe to a trade union to prepare and protect their rights in situations like these.

“We can assist the Carson Motors employees but, we advise all workers in the country to belong to a trade union so that they can prepare for situations like these,” said the ATUSWA Secretary General when speaking to this Swaziland News current affairs programme on Thursday.
