It’s very unfortunate to note that other Members of Parliament(MPs) laughed hysterically, while an appointed capitalist Finance Minister Neal Rijikernberg was blocking Timothy Myeni, an elected MP from raising a matter of vital public interest.
But the reality of the matter is that some of the MPs were laughing for the ‘last time’, they won’t be voted back to Parliament.
MP Myeni raised the issue of Khaya Gina inside Parliament on Wednesday, the member of the Swaziland Democratic Party(SWADEPA) who was fired as the Elections Commission’s Registration Clerk merely for wearing a t-shirt belonging to his political organization.
When the capitalist who was never voted by the people, interjected and blocked MP Myeni from raising the matter of national importance, other MPs who will soon be desperate for votes, opted to laugh instead of supporting him.
Well, I was chatting with an MP some weeks ago, he told me that the situation in the country now suggests that anyone who can provide food, can go to Parliament because the people are hungry and desperate.
Indeed, some MPs do not recognize the masses as citizens who must be treated with human dignity, when they see voters, to them these are hungry people who can vote for anyone who provides food.
But what I am sure of is that a certain population is now enlightened about Tinkhundla politics.
As a result, in less-than six(6) months, my sentiments suggesting that some MPs were laughing for the last time, will be vindicated.
